VIRGINIA BLOOD SERVICES BLOOD DRIVE
There are fellow members of Grace whose outreach to those in need includes donating blood at every collection that we have here. There are other members who donate blood on a regular basis at AHC and UVA because they work there or it is just more convenient for them. Their ministry of caring about others helps to restore lives and in many cases to actually save lives. Thanks to each of you! There is a 24/7 NEED for BLOOD ! Illness and accidents are a reality of life. There is NO
substitute for human blood. Please consider joining this outstanding group of faithful donors. It takes about 45 minutes to do the paper work and give a pint of blood. This volume is restored in your body in 24 to 48 hours. You can donate the gift of LIFE as follows. One unit of whole blood every 56 days: double red units every 112 days: and platelets every 26 days. Platelets are only drawn and processed at medical facilities and at VBS headquarters in Charlottesville. It is advisable to eat a good meal
the day of donation and to be well hydrated (starting day before) for optimal donation results. The next collection date at GELC is Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10AM to 2PM. Please sign up and give LIFE! If you would like to give, but this date does not suit you, I encourage you to make an appointment at Augusta Health, UVA, or VBS in Charlottesville and to give there.
