FORWARDINGFAITH

The Virgnia Synod is known for its youth and faith formation ministries year-round through youth events, the Ambassadors Community for Theological Study (ACTS) program, Roots and Wings ministry to families, and Power in the Spirit annual gathering held at Roanoke College each July. Generations of leaders in our Synod and across the Church have been brought up to know and love God in Jesus Christ. We are a synod declaring faith from generation to generation.

ForwardingFaith has been launched to provide permanent funding for these important ministries. The Synod is seeking $2.5 million or more in gifts to create an endowment for youth ministry and faith formation in the Virginia Synod, with $500,000 of that going to support youth ministry across the ELCA for the youth ministry portion of the ELCA Always Being Made New campaign. As we do this, we proclaim that youth will always be a vital part of this church, as will the development of faith for all of our people.

So far, more than $2 million has been raised for this effort. Now it is our turn to help raise the rest. Pledges can be made over a 3-year period of time.

Here at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, we are linking this wonderful mission to our celebration of our 125th Anniversary this year. We have set a 3-year goal of $12,500 - which would be approximately $125 per household over three years. Commitment Sunday for turning in our pledges will be Sunday, March 18.

We look forward to your joining us in supporting ForwardingFaith. Whatever you can give will be appreciated. We hope that many more children, youth, families, and adults will participate in programs of our Synod for generations to come as a result of this campaign.
